✅ TEST THE PRODUCT BEFORE BEGINNING THE BUILD.
Before beginning the construction of your media wall, it's important to test your electric fireplace to ensure it's working properly. This essential step confirms that the fire operates as expected and that all components are in good condition. Taking the time to test the fire in advance helps prevent potential issues during or after the build, ensuring a smooth installation process.
⚠️ DO NOT REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE PRODUCT.
It is imperative that the molded plug remains attached to the fireplace unit at all times. Removing or altering the plug will immediately void your warranty and could lead to costly repairs or replacement if issues arise. Each plug features its own fuse, precisely calibrated to protect your connected appliance from overcurrent. This specific fuse rating ensures that the fuse will quickly blow if the appliance attempts to draw more current than it is designed for, thereby preventing damage. Furthermore, in the event of a power surge or short circuit, the individual fuse will act swiftly to disconnect the power, providing a higher level of protection than a fuse spur that covers multiple outlets.
⚠️ DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION LEAD TO POWER THE PRODUCT.
For safety and optimal performance, the electric fireplace must never be connected to an extension lead. The unit is designed to be plugged directly into a dedicated wall socket to ensure a stable and sufficient power supply. Using an extension lead can lead to dangerous electrical overloads and fire hazards, jeopardizing both the functionality of the fireplace and the safety of your home. Always use a dedicated wall outlet to guarantee proper power and protect your property.
🛠️ COVER THE TOP OF THE PRODUCT DURING THE BUILD.
Please note that the fireplace features vents at the top, with lubricated moving parts located directly beneath. It is absolutely critical to cover the top of the product during the construction of your media wall to protect it from dust and debris. Any debris that enters the unit can cause it to malfunction or fail completely over time. Ensure that proper protection is in place to maintain the fireplace's performance and longevity.
🌬️ LEAVE AIR FLOW AROUND THE FIRE.
It is absolutely imperative that you adhere to the safety guidelines and distance requirements specified in the user manual for your electric fireplace. These clearances are mandated to ensure proper ventilation, safe operation, and optimal performance of the unit. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in overheating, significant reduction in efficiency, or even catastrophic damage. Carefully review the manual and ensure that your builder strictly observes these required clearances when constructing the media wall. Meeting these specifications is crucial to ensure the safe installation and reliable operation of your fireplace.
📦 ADD A LETTERBOX-SIZED SLOT ABOVE THE FIRE
Installing a letterbox-style slot above the fire, running up behind the TV, ensures optimal heat performance. When the heater operates, air is drawn in from the top of the unit, passes over the heating element, and is expelled through the front, thereby maximizing efficiency and ensuring even heat distribution.
🔌 INSTALL YOUR PLUG SOCKETS BEHIND THE TV
Plug sockets must be installed behind the TV to ensure the plug is easily accessible for changing the fuse. This is essential for maintaining the fireplace's functionality, as quick access to the plug will allow for efficient fuse replacement if necessary. Proper placement of the socket behind the TV prevents any obstructions that could delay maintenance, ensuring your fireplace remains in optimal working condition without unnecessary disruption.
🚫 DO NOT SEAL THE MEDIA WALL WITH SILICONE.
Do not seal the media wall with silicone, as this will restrict airflow and negatively impact the performance of your electric fireplace. Proper ventilation is essential to prevent overheating and ensure the unit operates efficiently. Blocking airflow with silicone can cause the fireplace to work harder than necessary, potentially leading to long-term damage or malfunction. Always follow the recommended installation guidelines to maintain safety, performance, and longevity.
👷 CHOOSE A MEDIA WALL INSTALLER WHO HAS PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN INSTALLING MEDIA WALLS
An experienced installer will understand the specific requirements for proper clearance, ventilation, and the safe installation of both the media wall and the fireplace. This expertise ensures that the unit is securely and correctly fitted, minimizing the risk of damage, ensuring optimal performance, and protecting your warranty. Choosing an installer who is familiar with the unique challenges of installing media walls will also help avoid potential issues, such as blocking air vents or damaging the electrical components.
